This post is,in a way,an expansion of yesterday's post.I guess that nearly everyone has taken a multivitamin supplement. For many years multivitamin supplements were considered essential for a balanced healthy diet.Lately though some scientific studies not only question their necessity but also state that they can be harmful.
The truth is in the middle.Firstly even though the studies found disturbing things like rise of mortality rates, higher chance for prostate cancer for men and other things like that they had many design flaws. Those flaws prevent them for being reliable sources. One the other hand it is certain that overdosing vitamins can be really harmful both short and long term. But we shouldn't forget that with reasonable use a multivitamin can help close nutrition gaps giving the vitamin benefits which would otherwise be missing.
To conclude I am going to give my recommendation for vitamin dosage either from a supplement or generally from your daily foods.
Vitamin A 5000-10000IU
Vitamin C 500 mg +
Vitamin D D3 600-1000 IU
These are the must have. You should have all the other vitamins as well of course but these minimums of these vitamins should be taken every day in a form.
