Christmas.The true meaning of them.

Firstly Merry Christmas to everyone. As usual these days passed with loads of food, presents and going outside to celebrate. To be honest I like this holiday ,mostly because of the extra food, but it also gets me to think how weird it is to celebrate the birth of a man who was against materialism by doing exactly the opposite of what he preached.

As I see it we mainly celebrate the domination of consumerism in today's world. It is easy to see this by taking a look around and see the masses of people rushing in stores like there is no tomorrow.I wonder were are all these people the rest of the year.Don't get me wrong I dont have a problem with that.I am just an observer making an observation. From one point of view the matter of buying presents it is good because at least the economy is moving and that is something that really helps as we are in a world in economic peril.I guess that Jack has more to say about the economy though so I will leave that matter for now.On the matter of the present giving I would like to share with you an interesting post from another blog(here). It presents the option of buying no presents and I agree with most of his points.

For me Christmas and every holiday in particular has only one purpose. They are a chance to spend more time with people you love, admire and they generally give you something useful in this life. All other things surrounding them are secondary but it seems that even you who reads this forget it most of the times.I dont blame you.It is easy to get carried away from what really matters. Our world functions that way sadly.Anyway to conclude this post I have to say take a hard look in yourself and decide who you want to spend some time with these days.Something special may happen.
