Hitting the switch

There are times in life where a big and unexpected event occurs. Usually there are no signs for what it’s about to happen and so the “victim” is unprepared, meaning that the shock will be much greater. When this or those events occur, they lead to a total change of life stance (or partial) and then we can say that we have hit the switch.

The hit the switch thing, can occur for different reasons. The first one is because of the overwhelming experience or trauma. You perceive a situation so strong that you are drawn inside what you see and feel. It is like throwing a grenade on your feet. When it blows up and luckily you survive, some grenade fragments will be inside your body permanently.

Another reason can be the power of truth of what u see. This means that you perceive a situation in a way that is different from the current reality and so, when you instantly reconceive what happened, the shock is huge. In this situation you feel like the whole universe collapses all over you.

Finally on my mind there is the case of an experience so strong that you had to adapt in order to survive. It is like what a viruses does to your body. At the beginning you have fever and other symptoms making your body sick. After that you body adapts and fights back and in order to protect itself from future threats it creates memory of what happened.
