When I hear conversations between elder people, older relatives and common friends or on TV, there is always a fraise like “Children are the future” or “New people have fresh ideas” or “children will create a better world for all of us” etc. Listening to those words a question emerges, are children really the bright future we wish?
I believe there are two aspects in this subject. People suggest that since elders have lived their lives, there is nothing more to except from them and so, children will give a new vision and promising future. In a first read, this seems reasonable but I strongly disagree. First of all an elder has great experience of the past, he has seen mistakes and possible, can suggest effective solutions to future problems. Youngsters may be warm blooded but they lack of experience. Combining those two ingredients we have the perfect mix.
I really cannot understand, why people believe that new generations will become better, since their teacher are not that good. If you spell apple aple, this mistake will pass to the next generations! Many times those phrases of a brighter future, give me the impression of excuses that elders use, because they have screwed up and they don’t want bother with cleaning up their mess.
Sometimes it is like New Year’s Day. People hope for a better future just because New Year has come. But how is it possible for things to change if we don’t become better individuals? If we want a better future we have to improve ourselves every day, become better teachers and so have better students.
