False news, false perception

It is common to see on blogs, portals and even on TV and newspapers false news.  Recently I read a statement spoken supposingly from Soros, suggesting that a global war in on its way and USA are going to win versus China and Russia. Of course all these statements are ridiculous lies! The post first was published from a portal named dailysquib, which satirizes current events, but the blog which I read it on, “forgot” to mention the source and that it is fake. I replied with a comment including evidence and hopefully it wasn’t deleted. Most of the viewers agreed with my opinion and the evidence but the author didn’t seem to care as the post remains until now...

It is common to see false news and there are some reasons for that and ignorance is not one of them.  Usually press wants to direct readers’ attention to specific subjects of interest.  This can be for a number of reasons.

Profit, for example. The first paragraphs’ paradigm would attract many viewers’ attention and so more income from advertisements would come for the blog.  Similarly the repetition of news that are believable can be a magnet for bigger audiences meaning more profits.

 Another reason is propaganda. Media wants you to believe what their owners and government pays them for.  If their interest is for example, to make you believe that a person of interest is innocent, they will try to turn black into white and they will succeed.

To target a group or ethnicity. This category is a mixture of the previous two. By targeting a group you fuel the ego of the mass and so you unite them around this axel and your messages are easily digested. Also the repeated information refuels the fire, which was strategically guided and placed to the audiences’ heads, meaning more sales and as a result more profits.

Political reasons (subcategory of propaganda).  Politicians and media holder walk side by side. It is well known that if you want to be a politician, having good relationships with media owners (whatever that means) is the key to a successful carrier. If the politician is a bit of a scumbag, it is mandatory that mud is going to hit the fan and spoil the reputation of rival candidates.

Nevertheless, I believe it is compulsory to cross check any suspicious or profound news you found.  It is common nowadays to see a lack of respect from the press for their audiences and no matter the reasons we must always take care of our proper education if we want to differ from the rest of the people mass. Also digging a bit deeper never harmed anyone and except from the time cost, your perception will be enhanced.
