Talent vs Hard work

I think everyone has experienced the situation in which you while working harder than you would ever imagined get worse results than someone who only made the minimal effort at the same task. This kind of situation is leading to the ordinary question. Is it talent or hard work better for results?

Hard work gives  results certainly.Even if someone isn't good at something by being persistent to it and spending a large amount of hours will make him at least decent to the subject or task or whatever. There is the estimation that ten thousand hours(roughly 417 days) spent at something are needed for everyone to exceptional at it.So it seems that time is the only thing that limits a hard working person. At some point it is certain that the person will reach the  maximum potential on that <something>.

On the other hand talent acts differently. If someone is talented on something ,he will have more potential than someone without. That means that with less work he can achieve the same result because he is going to be more efficient. But the talent by itself doesn't quarantee success  because after some point talent itself isn't enough. For example musicians are very talent dependant but even the most talented of them has work hard to cultivate their talent and get to the top.

So we get to the following conclusion.A talented person has higher potential than a hard a working one but the hard working person will reach his maximum potential for sure while the talented may not.The best thing obviously is to find where you are talented and get the hard work done to get the best from both and find your way to the top.
